Our pork chops are phenomenal! No extravagant recipes necessary!
Cast Iron Pork Chops!
1.) Rub chops with a seasoning blend & pre-heatoven to 400°F.
I prefer something simple such as fresh thyme, black pepper and a dash of salt, but you could also make a rub like this:
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• ½ teasoon onion powder
• ½ teaspoon dry mustard
• ½ teaspoon brown sugar, ½ teaspoon salt
• ¼ teaspoon black pepper
(reserve the left over rub for your next chop dinner!)
2.) Heat Skillet over med-high heat
3.) Add a small amount of med-high heat appropriate oil
I use a bit of lard or bacon fat. Ghee, safflower oil, sunflower oil, avocado oil, are alsogreat med-high heat oils to use that have little to no taste. You won’t need much since our chops will render some of their own oils!
4.) Cook 2-3 minutes on one side, flip the chops and place them in the oven for 6-8 minutes depending on thickness!
